LABOUR SELECT MIKE J CARR TO BE CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR OF MIDDLESBROUGH

Mike J CarrLabour have today announced that Mike Carr has been selected to be the Labour Candidate for Mayor of Middlesbrough.

Mike Carr was elected through a postal ballot of Labour Party members from across the Middlesbrough Council local authority area.

After the announcement, Mike Carr said;

"Middlesbrough people are hungry for change.  Being chosen as the Labour Candidate to fight for the change to a Labour Elected Mayor is a real privilege. I am a family man who has invested all of his adult life in the town I am proud of. The town needs a Labour Mayor to push Middlesbrough into the premier league of public perception - for too long the town has been tarnished with an unfair image; an image linked to law and disorder, of a town demolished by disadvantage and unable to build better. Change in Middlesbrough is long over due."
