Mayor Norma Redfearn - North Tyneside

Norma Redfearn is the Labour directly-elected Mayor of North Tyneside.

Norma was born and raised on North Tyneside and had a long and successful career in education before becoming a local councillor. An award-winning Head Teacher, Norma won praise for turning around schools in some of the toughest areas on Tyneside. 

As Cabinet Member for Education under Labour Mayor John Harrison, Norma helped introduce breakfast clubs into the borough. She was elected as Mayor of North Tyneside in May 2013 defeating the incumbent Conservative Mayor.

Mayor Dave Budd - Middlesbrough

David Budd is the Labour directly-elected Mayor of Middlesbrough

A former Councillor and Deputy Mayor. Born and bred in Middlesbrough, David became the first ever Labour Mayor of the town in May 2015.
