NORTH EAST & CUMBRIA HAS ITS' SAY ON LABOUR'S MANIFESTO

The North East & Cumbria got its chance to shape Labour's manifesto at a special event today.

Over a hundred people joined Labour's Shadow Secretary of Defence, Vernon Coaker MP at Stockton Riverside College as part of Labour's Changing Britain Together consultation.

The event was hosted by Stockton South Labour Candidate, Louise Baldock. Stockton South is one of Labour's key targets at the General Election in May.

Findings from the event will be fed into the process formulating the party's manifesto.

After the event, Vernon Coaker said:

"It's always great to be up here in the North East. This region knows more than most about the impact of this government's policies. Ed Miliband and Labour are promising fundamental change at the next election. I came to listen to voices from the North East about what those changes should be, in funding for our NHS, in housing, in the powers and decisions we devolve down to the region. I'll be taking these messages back to Ed Miliband and the shadow cabinet."
