Training
Labour’s Train to Win scheme is growing, and our Training Academy is now working to become a “University for Labour”.
General Secretary, Iain McNicol says, “One of my top priorities is to train and empower our members. We must actively find mentors, develop courses, provide further resources, and even use qualifications and certificates to build a “University for Labour” - delivered online and with local and regional tutorials across the country. Simply put, everything I do will be about helping, supporting and empowering the people who will deliver victory at the next election.”
Train to Win, is one of five elements of Project Game Plan, the Labour Party’s organisational strategy. With the aim to win the next general election we are working with members across the country to equip you with the skills you need to be great local campaigners and elected representatives. Since it’s launch at Annual Conference last year more than 2,000 members have attended more than 200 Training workshops up and down the country as part of Labour’s new Training Academy.
In a recent survey of nearly 1,000 Train to Win participants, 86 per cent of respondents said they had used what they learnt during training in a practical way for the Labour Party. 90 per cent of responders said the training they had received was very good or excellent.
